Technical Event Production in a Highly Controlled Defence Environment
For more than two decades, Comtec Presentations has supported BAE Systems at its submarine facility in Barrow-in-Furness, providing event production for significant occasions connected with some of the UK’s most advanced engineering programmes.
One of the latest chapters in that relationship was the commissioning of HMS Agamemnon, the sixth Astute-class submarine, formally welcomed into Royal Navy service in the presence of His Majesty King Charles III.

The Challenge
Producing an event within an operational defence and nuclear site is very different from working in a conventional conference venue.
Access, safety, security, working practices and production activity all have to operate within the requirements of the site.
At the same time, the event itself must deliver the professional standards expected for an occasion involving senior representatives from industry, government, the Armed Forces and invited guests.
There is little room for improvisation where safety, security and operational procedures are concerned.
Preparation starts long before show day.
