Infection Prevention Society Conference 2008

Comtec took over the Infection Prevention Society (formerly Infection Control Nurse’s Association) account in 2002 and have staged 6 consecutive annual events.

The remit for the IPS is to source funding for and deliver an informative and diverse annual 3 day conference attracting over 400 delegates, with a main conference arena, two further concurrent seminar sessions and an exhibition featuring over 100 stands and suppliers. Including the suppliers and speakers, Comtec must manage, cater for, accommodate and entertain over 750 people for the full duration of the event. Read Full Story

Trades Union Congress (TUC) - September 2008 - The Brighton Centre, Brighton

Comtec have now produced the annual Trades Union Congress conference for 11 consecutive years despite this contract going out to tender on a regular basis. This is a sure sign of our commitment to quality and continuous improvement.

The key to this successful relationship is the knowledge and understanding that has been developed and built upon year on year. This is fully exploited to ensure that each year the event is improved from the physical look of the conference through to the technology used and the logistics employed to ensure a streamlined event from start to finish. BAE Systems Astute Submarine Naming & Roll Out - June 2007 - Devonshire Dock Hall

The challenge was set. To produce the launch of the first Astute Class Submarine at BAE Systems Submarine Solutions in Barrow-in Furness. With a 12 month lead time the team were on a mission.

With the submarine measuring 100m long x 16m wide, the launch had to take place in Devonshire Dock Hall, the largest indoor submarine build facility in Europe. This nuclear facility requires the highest-level security checks on all staff and vehicles working onsite.Read Full Story

The Turner Prize - December 2007 - Tate Liverpool

Established in 1984 to celebrate new developments in contemporary art the Turner Prize is awarded each year to a British artist under fifty for an outstanding exhibition or other presentation of their work in the twelve months preceding.

Manchester Phoenix Affiliate Parters Scheme

In February 2008 Comtec were challenged to construct a scheme that would bring together local businesses, the community and the fans. We did this through the creation of an affiliate partners scheme. The concept was such that if we could build up a list of local suppliers, the Manchester Phoenix could bring the businesses together for b2b events and target them for sponsorship; the businesses could attract new business by marketing special offers to the club’s 500 season ticket holders as well as working together and the season ticket holders would benefit by receiving special offers/discounts from each of the suppliers.
