In the last 12 months we have gone a long way to helping the environment by replacing a number of our company vehicles with more efficient models reducing our carbon emissions.

Not only that, we have drastically increased the size of a number of our trucks, replacing smaller ones, including purchasing a brand new crew bus to reduce the number of vehicles being taken out on events.

The company is actively encouraging staff, where possible, to car pool. We have already seen a reduction in the number of cars in our car park and not only are we minimising the amount of car fumes Comtec are responsible for, we are also helping our staff save money on transport.

At Comtec we have been dedicated to recycling any waste paper where ever we can for a number of years with designated recycling points in each of our offices.

In a similar vein for at least the last 10 years we have also recycled our set designs wherever possible. This has reduced our requirements for raw materials, although these are also sourced from suppliers providing renewable products, and is a benefit we are able to pass on to our clients.

In 2008 our Media department changed print suppliers. As part of the agreement with our supplier every time we use FSC (the mark of responsible forestry) papers or recycled papers for our printing jobs, one English Oak Tree is planted in the name of Comtec Presentations at Dairy House Farm, Somerset.

In a bid to reduce the amount of paper used unnecessarily, the company has only been providing clients with ‘paperless quotations’. Hosted securely in our personalised client log-in sections, each client has the chance to view all of our visuals, proposals and any media such as music or video online giving them the option to print each if needed.

Our online client log-in sections reduce the amount of paper the organisation uses and also reduces our carbon footprint caused by using the postal service.

In the next 12 months we are looking to move premises. One of the biggest requirements of our new building is that it fits into our plans to be more energy efficient over the next 10 years.

We endeavour to source our supplies from companies that echo our CSR requirements.
